Subject: Out of Office Indefinitely

The performance is based on texts written as out-ofoffice messages in various contexts such as artistic work, wage labour, or friendships. These Notes of Absence are stored in a folder where they intermingle with transcribed voice messages that reveal the collective’s internal communications. From these transcribed messages, various everyday challenges emerge, addressing, for example, the general conditions of artistic labour as well as the collective process of thinking through and
articulating a shared practice.

The texts condense into a monologue that refuses any replies or inquiries. This monologue consistently rejects availability, responsibility, professionalism, and “fuckability.”

What is absent here is always present somewhere else.
